Jeff is a restoration ecologist at Audubon Minnesota. Jeff studied aquatic macroinvertebrates and stream fishes at Illinois Natural History Survey for 6 years. He learned to restore native habitats and manage invasive species while working for Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, and The Nature Conservancy Ohio. He has more than 10 years of experience restoring natural landscapes and conducting biological monitoring. Jeff spent three seasons studying birds around the world: Yellow-headed Blackbirds (northern Illinois), Splendid Fairy Wren (South Australia), and New Zealand Bellbird (New Zealand). He earned his MS degree from Eastern Illinois University in Biological Sciences, and a BS degree from University of Illinois –Urbana/Champaign in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. In his free time, Jeff enjoys riding his motorcycle, bird watching, throwing axes, and knitting.
