Audubon Minnesota has received a generous matching gift pledge from the Smikis Foundation. New donations will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.

Your donation will be put to work immediately to deliver bird conservation results statewide. Audubon Minnesota is working on vital programs including:

• Leading the science-based charge to address climate change – the biggest threat to birds, people, and the planet – by  advocating for cleaner, more renewable sources of energy here in Minnesota
• Safe-guarding critical forests, wetlands, and grasslands within Minnesota’s Important Birds Areas through advocacy, outreach, and on-the-ground conservation projects
• Protecting and restoring endangered floodplain forests along the Mississippi River and its major tributaries to support scores of migratory birds and breeding birds like the Prothonotary Warbler
• Reducing bird-building collisions through education of homeowners and building managers, advocacy for enforcement of Minnesota’s bird-safe design rules, and research into solutions for the future
